Close to being ready for a second round of testing. The shape of the user options helps make them clickable. Only having the search box makes it stand out more, and the tan color makes it look more navigation like. The "subnav" links could be coded in HTML/Style Sheets to make them easy to update. In the past, it became a huge project to make any header change, so I was trying to think ahead to solve some of these issues. The biggest solution was to make buttons on the side for the subjects, leaving a lot of room for new ones! My personal goal was to design a working header that didn't use Tabs, a metaphor that works well, but is often overdone.
